RBG Attends Barret School of Banking Lecture

On May 24th, Reynolds Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) representatives had the opportunity to attend a meeting of the lecture series put on by the Paul W. Barret, Jr. School of Banking. The event featured three-time Olympic medalist Elana Myers Taylor and Olympic gold medalist Kikkan Randall. The reception that followed was sponsored by RBG.

“We were honored to be a part of this fantastic event,” said John Griesbeck, Managing Partner. “The lecture series put on by the Paul W. Barret, Jr. School of Banking is always thrilling. It was wonderful to meet Ms. Taylor and Ms. Randall and an inspiring to hear them speak.”

The Paul W. Barret, Jr. School of Banking is an independent, non-profit school. All members of the school’s Board of Regents are executives in the banking and financial services industries. RBG Hosts RBG Connects Event

On August 28, RBG Connects hosted a cocktails, conversations, and guest lecture event at Chickasaw Country Club. Guest lecturer Roquita Coleman-Williams—leader, philanthropist, and author of Storealities: A Collection of Stories by Empowering Women to Empower Women—spoke about both her book and her professional journey.

Coleman-Williams is recognized as a leader in business nationally and internationally. She has been awarded Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, Super Women in Business, and Rising Star of North American Railroads. She is best known for advocating for diversity and gender inclusion in transportation workforces across North America. She has permanently changed the landscape in industries where women hold less than 5% of the leadership roles. Coleman-Williams currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee with her husband and two sons.

“It was a delight to have Mrs. Coleman-Williams join us at this event, and enlightening to listen to her story,” said Charlotte Henderson. “The RBG Connects events are always inspiring, and this one was certainly no exception to that.”

RBG Connects, an affiliate of Reynolds Bone and Griesebeck PLC, regularly hosts events with the aim of “connecting women leaders for today and tomorrow.” The theme of the August 28 gathering was “End[ing] Summer on a High Note.”

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC Announces New Tax Staff

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Thames Kennedy to their professional team.

Kennedy initially worked with the RBG team as an audit intern. She now joins the firm fulltime as tax staff. In this role, she fulfills various tax assignments for both individual clients and businesses.

“We’re very pleased to have Thames joining the team permanently,” said John Griesbeck, CPA, RBG Managing Partner. “We got to know her well throughout the course of her internship. She proved herself to be a hardworking and capable professional—she is a great addition to our firm.” 

A graduate of Mississippi State University, Kennedy earned a Bachelor of Accountancy in 2017 and a Master of Professional Accountancy in 2018. She is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). Raised in Ridgeland, Mississippi, Kennedy currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee.
