Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC Announces George Willie Scholarship Intern

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce that Amber Richmond has been selected as a recipient of the 2020 George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Scholarship and Internship Program. 

Students selected to participate in the George Willie program receive a scholarship of up to $20,000 from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and secure an internship with one of the AICPA’s Private Company Practice Section member firms for the following busy season. Richmond is currently a student at the University of Memphis. She expects to graduate in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting with a minor in Finance. She is currently affiliated with the National Association of Black Accountants, the AICPA, and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA).

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to be named a 2020 Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work For. 

Accounting Today has partnered with Best Companies Group to identify companies that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees. This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the accounting profession. This list is made up of 100 firms. 

“It is a great honor to be recognized as a best accounting firm to work for,” said Skeet Haag, CPA, managing partner of RBG. “We take pride in our team and the exceptional workplace we have built. We’re delighted to receive such a sought-after award.” 

Firms from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Accounting Today’s Best Accounting Firms to Work for. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top firms and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final ranking.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of John “Ben” Dodd to its professional team. 

A recent graduate, Dodd joins the RBG Audit Department as an audit staff accountant. He brings with him one and a half years of part time experience as an intern-staff accountant for a Mississippi accounting firm. 

A graduate of Delta State University, Dodd earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2019 and a Master of Professional Accountancy in 2020. He is currently in pursuit of his CPA designation. Raised in Sunflower, Mississippi, Dodd currently lives in Southaven, Mississippi.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce the recent promotions of Daniel Johnson, CPA, Logan Dopson, CPA, and Thames Kennedy, CPA. 

Johnson steps into the role of audit senior manager. He previously served as an audit manager and has been with RBG since 2012. Dopson has been with the firm since 2019. With this promotion, he moves from audit staff to audit senior. A member of the firm since 2017, Kennedy moves from tax staff to tax senior with this promotion. 

A graduate of the University of Memphis, Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2012 and a Master of Science in Accounting in 2013. He is currently affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). Johnson currently resides in his hometown of Jackson, Tennessee, with his wife, Adrian, and their two children. 

Dopson attended the University of Louisiana – Monroe, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He currently lives in Memphis, Tennessee. 

An alumna of Mississippi State University, Kennedy earned a Bachelor of Accountancy with a Minor in Finance in 2017 and a Master of Professional Accountancy in 2018. She is currently a member of the AICPA and the TSCPA. Raised in Ridgeland, Mississippi, Kennedy currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Taylor Barnes to their professional team. 

A recent college graduate, Barnes joins the firm as a staff accountant in the RBG Audit Department. She brings with her valuable experience earned at two summer internships with a national firm. 

Barnes graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis in 2019, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. She went on to study at Georgetown University, graduating in 2020 with a master’s degree in Sports Industry Management. Born in Port Gibson, Mississippi, Barnes moved to Memphis while in the 7th grade. She currently lives in Cordova, TN.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Abby Eubank, Alexis Lowe, Nicholas Morris, and Janae Westbrook to their professional team. 

The four young professionals join the RBG team as audit interns. Their primary focus will be on assisting with audit engagements and gaining experience working as part of a team of audit professionals. 

“I am thrilled to welcome Abby, Alexis, Nick and Janae to the RBG team,” said Skeet Haag, CPA, managing partner of RBG. “Internships are such an integral part of the career for young professionals in the accounting field. I look forward to watching these four students gain valuable audit experience and establish helpful professional connections.” 

Eubank is currently studying at the University of Tennessee at Martin. She expects to graduate in December 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. She is named on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll with highest honors and is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Eubank currently lives in her hometown, Greenfield, Tennessee. 

Currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi, Lowe is affiliated with Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Mu. She is an officer and the Vice President of Programming for Beta Alpha Psi. Lowe lives in Brandon, Mississippi. 

Morris attends the University of Memphis and expected to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration in December 2020. He is a member of Beta Alpha Psi and appears on the school’s Dean’s List. Professionally, Morris is currently affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). He currently lives in Memphis, his hometown. 

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Westbrook holds a Bachelor of Accountancy. She is currently in pursuit of a Master of Science in Accounting, Taxation from the University of Memphis. She is a member of the AICPA. Raised in Oxford, Mississippi, Westbrook currently lives in Memphis.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Ashley Day, CPA to their professional team. 

A professional in the accounting field since 2017, Day brings with her nearly three years of experience working for a Big Four firm. She joins the RBG team as a tax senior. Day is licensed as a CPA in both Tennessee and Alabama.

Day attended Auburn University, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and in 2017 with a Master of Accountancy. She remains involved with the school via the Auburn University Alumni Association. Day is also affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Raised in Lexington, Tennessee, Day currently resides in Memphis with her husband, Dylan.

Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck PLC (RBG) is pleased to announce that Connor Shannon is a winner of the 2019 Elijah Watt Sells Award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). 

Of the nearly 75,000 candidates who sat for the CPA Exam in 2019, only 133 met the criteria to receive this award: obtaining a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the exam, passing all four section on their first attempt, and completing testing in 2019. 

“Earning the Elijah Watt Sells Award is an incredible achievement for an accounting professional,” said Skeet Haag, CPA, managing partner of RBG. “We are very proud to have Connor as an integral part of the RBG team.” 

Shannon joined the RBG team in 2019 and currently serves as a staff member in the firm’s audit department. He attended Arkansas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2018 and a Master of Accountancy in 2019. Shannon lives in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife, Ali.

The Memphis accounting and consulting firm Reynolds, Bone & Griesbeck (RBG) is pleased to announce the addition of Skylar Bursi, Joseph Katool, Jerome Lindsey, Jamison Payne, and Parker Sewell to their professional team.

All five young professionals join the RBG team as interns for the 2020 tax season. Their primary focus will be on assisting with completing tax returns and experiencing tax season as part of a team of accounting professionals.

“I love welcoming interns to the team—it is always a very exciting time for the firm,” said Skeet Haag, CPA, managing partner of RBG. “Their eagerness to learn and willingness to serve really invigorate the whole office. As we gear up for the 2020 tax season, I am thrilled to have Skylar, Joe, Jerome, Jamie, and Parker joining us.”

Bursi is currently in pursuit of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Memphis. She expects to graduate in December of this year. She is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA). Bursi is a native of Memphis.

A student at the University of Mississippi, Katool expects to graduate with a Bachelor of Accountancy this May. He is a recipient of the 2019 Undergraduate Scholarship from the Mississippi Society of CPAs and is one of 25 seniors at his school to receive the Distinguished Senior Scholarship. Katool was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi.

Lindsey expects to graduate from the University of Memphis this summer with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is currently affiliated with the AICPA, the TSCPA, Lambda Alpha International, and the Fogelman Finance Club. He is a candidate for Beta Alpha Pi. Raised in Chattanooga, he currently lives in Memphis.

A graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College, Payne holds an Associate of Art in accounting. She is currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi and expects to graduate in May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She next intends to pursue a master’s degree in accounting. She currently lives in Courtland, Mississippi.

Sewell holds an associate degree in accounting from Itawamba Community College. He is currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi and expects to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting this year. He currently lives in his hometown, Pontotoc, Mississippi.
