Human Resources Manager

The HR Manager plays a key role in enhancing the employee experience through planning and delivering people-focused programs.  This position serves as a trusted advisor to the partner group bringing innovative leadership and data-driven decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with partner group in monitoring staffing needs and ensuring a pipeline of quality candidates for future growth.
  • Maintain an innovative recruiting strategy for both college recruiting and experienced-hire recruiting; manage logistics and career center relationships at universities where we recruit; manage the office visit process.
  • Coordinate with recruiting agencies for experienced-hire needs
  • Facilitate the employment offer process, pre-employment communication and onboarding process.
  • Coordinate programs unique to recruiting efforts such as the Accelerate Leadership summer conference program for college students and the RBG Accounting Careers of Tomorrow program held in conjunction with University of Memphis Professional Development Center.
  • Lead the performance management process including maintaining role profiles, assigning coaches, coordinating annual feedback and quarterly coaching meetings, and assisting partners with promotion decisions.
  • Advise partners on disciplinary matters, employment legal matters, wage and hour issues, and termination matters.
  • Administer and coordinate renewals on all current benefit programs and explore new benefit opportunities.
  • Assist partners with administration of the compensation process.
  • Coordinate all employee surveys including Q12, Top Workplaces, and Best Places to Work.
  • Manage the administrative staff including recruiting, hiring, and performance feedback.
  • Handle all facility management including coordination with property management company.
  • Facilitate scheduling and planning for all firm-wide events, staff meetings and social events. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Human Resources, Business or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of comprehensive HR management experience or related experience in public accounting or professional service environment preferred.
  • SPHR/PHR certification, SHRM certification and/or graduate level coursework in HR or business preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in performance management, employee relations, researching and applying federal and state employment laws, training and HR systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present with ease to large/small groups.
  • Ability to successfully and professionally interact with people at all levels both inside and outside the firm, successfully representing RBG in the community.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills with ability to manage the work of others.
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills.
  • Able to handle confidential material and sensitive situations in a reliable manner.

Tax Senior

This individual is responsible for compliance, planning, research and other tax consulting projects to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses and exempt organizations
  • Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities
  • Builds relationships with existing clients, including networking and business development activities
  • Manages multiple client engagements and responds well to competing priorities
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Tax Staff

Qualifications:

  • CPA license (advanced degree preferred but not required, such as Master of Taxation, JD, etc.)
  • 2+ years prior experience in tax (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Research proficiency
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency preferred in ProSystem FX, RIA Checkpoint and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task

Tax Manager

This individual will lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate.  

Responsibilities:

  • Builds new and manages existing client relationships and demonstrates basic knowledge of client’s businesses
  • Reviews federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses and exempt organizations
  • Handles federal, state and local tax audits
  • Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities
  • Trains and supervises staff, reviews and evaluates their work
  • Manages multiple client engagements and responds well to competing priorities
  • Actively participates in attracting new clients and talent

Qualifications:

  • CPA license (advanced degree preferred but not required, such as Master of Taxation, JD, etc.)
  • 6+ years prior experience in tax (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Tax audit experience
  • Significant supervisory experience (2+ years)
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Research proficiency
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency preferred in ProSystem FX, RIA Checkpoint and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
  • Well-rounded in dealing with high net worth individuals and businesses

Client Accounting Services Associate

This individual is responsible for providing outsourced accounting services for our clients. Potential for flexible work arrangement will be considered for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports
  • Prepare payroll, personal property and sales tax returns
  • Enter client financial data into accounting software
  • Reconcile client accounts
  • Record journal entries
  • Maintain client records
  • Build and manage relationships with existing clients
  • Manage multiple client engagements and responds well to competing priorities
  • Assist with other client accounting requests

Qualifications:

  • 2 Year Degree
  • 3+ years prior experience in client accounting services (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency preferred in QuickBooks and other accounting software systems, Excel and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task

Accelerate Leadership Conference

RBG is looking for highly motivated students interested in a career in public accounting. If you are a declared accounting major and a sophomore or beyond, you are eligible to apply for our Accelerate Leadership Conference. 

Students who attend Accelerate Leadership will get to know Memphis and RBG through entertainment, education, and networking events. Participants will attend the program compliments of RBG. Accommodations, transportation (if needed), meals and entertainment will be provided by the firm.
